RE: I had my first tire blowout on classA

IMO less than 6 months old is fine. That is what I get, even for my cars. I also get metal valve stems.
Personally I also do not use Chinese tires.

RE: Flashing refrigerator light

Lite flashes when burner does not lite. Ours quits trying after a certain number of tries, but lite keeps flashing. When you went to auto, it retried and lit.
Usually happens when propane supply was stopped, even just enough for air to enter lines.
My opinion, worth what it cost.

Should work fine. We weigh ours with some lumber and a bathroom scale.

THANKS!!!!!
My wife says the sink smells when we set up camp. I'll bet it is same cause. We'll try a plug while driving.

RE: Confused on tow ratings, help

For 5er you need picups load capaity. What can you carry in bed? That is often the real limitation, cargo capacity.
9800# is how much you can PULL, assuming your hitch will take 1300# tongue load.

RE: Mice or chipmunks

Transonic (Weitech) makes an ultrasonic pest repeller that will run off of 12 volts. I know these things work inside houses, because we've used them successfully for over 17 years, and we live very rural. I decided to try putting one (Transonic Pro is current model) UNDER my RV while it is parked. I asked the manufacturer and they said to place the Transonic under the trailer inside a Tupperware bowl with holes near the speaker (keeps out rain and snow). Sound will come out behind too, so place the unit near the end of the trailer, say 5 feet in. Putting a cinder block at the far end would be good to help the sounds echo. Setting it off the ground for weather protection is good too. Seems to me if the critters never go under my rig, they will not chew wires, insulation, or be able to get inside. I installed it early fall of 2004. I'm running it off the trailer battery, by connecting to the TV cord. I use a solar battery charger when stored, and am watching the voltage to be sure it keeps up. I didn't want to kill the mice once they were in the trailer, I want them to not get in. Problem is I do not want to poison grandchildren, pets, or wild animals, all of which we seem to have wandering around here. So far, no mice, or any other critter trouble, with TT.
Note we use another one placed in front of our sports car, pointed under. No damage yet in 8 years its been in operation.

RE: Water Pressure Damage

We saw thye same thing in a CG last year. CG even had a warning sign at checkin about water pressure. Amazing the number of fools who blew lines. One 5er had water coming out of inside walls!

RE: Why would A/C trip breaker, and then work fine?

Probably was gremlins. They usually stay in one area, so next time you move, someone else gets them. Cute little fellas, but so fast you rarely see them..

RE: Are there any American made trailer tires?

My Maxxis tires are NOT made in China per DOT code. They are made in Thialand, and are doing fine.
My older Coopers were made in USA per DOT code.
My TV Yokohamas are made in USA per DOT code.

RE: WD and sway hitches

Equal-i-zer has built in sway control. It does not need adjusting like inferior friction sway bars. IMO it is one of the top hitches on the market with both WD and sway control. Other is Reese Dual Cam. I prefer Equal-i-zer.
Dealer is an idiot.
IMO you need bars for 13% of TT GVWR.

RE: tire inflation pressure

If you know ACTUAL weights on EACH TIRE, then use manufacturers tire charts to get required pressure.
Note under inflated tires overheat and blow out.
Over inflated tires wear bad, have poor braking and sliding traction due to insufficient contact patch, and are more susceptible to blowouts due to impact damage.
Over inflation is less dangerous than under inflation.
Most RV manufacturers seem to use tires of marginal capacity as OE. Thus many folks recommend using full pressure.

RE: Hitch height to accomodate spring bars

We use electric tongue jack to raise SUV and TT high enough Equal-i-zer bars can be put on or off with NO lifting. No trouble yet!

RE: Repacking Dexter E-Z Lube axles

I used the fittings (NOT with an air gun, use manual gun and pump slowly). Then every other year I'd pull one wheel so I could check brakes and repack by hand.

RE: Broken wheel studs

That is why I always torque my own, even after a shop supposedly uses a torque wrench. Likely some idiot used an impact wrench instead of a torque wrench.

RE: Duro ST205/75R14 Tires Load range

IMO as long as you aren't WAY overweight you are ok. Tires handle 7040#, and load is 5000# if fully loaded and tongue weight assumed to be zero. In fact that is nearly what we have for tire limits and weight on our toyhauler. Over 50,000 miles with no issues on this TT.
But we do not use Chinese tires. No idea on Duros, never used those.

Also maybe one wheel is heavier than others. We have one that weighs 20% more than other three. Do you tend to blow same wheel?

RE: small cracking in trailer tire. are they still safe?

How OLD are tires per DOT code on tire. IMO if over 7 years old I would replace. I do not run TT tires over 7 years old no matter how good the tread.

RE: trailer brakes

Are you looking at backs of hubs? Wires often run to far side INSIDE axle tube.
All four hubs on our dual axle have brakes, and wires.
